This packaging project was about recreating a packaging for a product that was over-packaged originally. It’s about learning to be sustainable in materials, ink usage, and amount of packaging. My partner, Anna Dennis, and I chose to repackage a video converter for GE. The original packaging was too large for a small product, it had bubble wrap inside to help fill in space, and other unsustainable components. For this product we had to create a sub brand under the original branding which was GE. The sub brand we created was Tube Tech which refers to the old tube TVs which was what the product was mainly for.
We wanted the packaging to appear like an old TV would with the color bar screen and buttons on the side. We felt the RGB colors would attract people from the shelf and attract the older demographic that would mainly buy this product.
